Somers: Your 2014 Midterm Election Results
Here's how Somers voted in Tuesday's election.

The results are in and while Gov. Dannel P. Malloy won reelection (officially on Wednesday), the majority of Somers voters cast their ballots in favor of challenger Tom Foley.
In Somers, Foley received 2,394 votes to Malloyβs 1,196.
In the 2nd U.S. Congressional District, incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney defeated Republican Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh and Green Party candidate. William C. Clyde and Libertarian Party candidate Daniel Reale.

The overall vote was 145,001 for Courtney, while Hopkins-Cavanagh received 80,911 votes and Clyde had 2,515 and Reale received 2,361.
In Somers, the vote was as follows: Courtney 1,824; Hopkins-Cavanagh 1,682; Clyde 25; and Reale 40.

In the 7th District State Senate race, incumbent Republican John A. Kissel defeated Democrat John Foxx 22,160 to 9,704.
In Somers, the vote was 2,832 to 745 in favor of Kissel.
For the 52nd District of the State House of Representatives (which covers Somers and Stafford) Republican Kurt Vail defeated Democrat David Pinney and Petitioning Candidate Linda Louise Lacasse.
The overall vote was 4,532 for Vail, while Pinney received 2,999 votes and Lacasse had 373.
In Somers, the vote was as follows: Vail 1,974; Pinney 1,399; Lacasse 241.
The state constitutional amendment question appeared to have failed (final numbers werenβt in as of Wednesday night), and the majority of voters in Somers agreed with 2,008 No votes, to 1,230 Yes votes.
