Top Ellington, Somers Runners at 79th Manchester Road Race

The 79th running of the Thanksgiving Day Manchester Road Race drew more than 13,000 athletes from around the country and nearly every town in Connecticut.

Two Ellington runners had the distinction of placing in the top 10 of their respective divisions:

• Kate Bonanno, F0113 - 4th
• Kevin Vallez, M4549 - 5th

The top five overall finishers from Ellington were:

1. Michael Insler, age 32 (98th)
2. Kevin Vallez, age 47 (107th)
3. Brian Colonnese, age 28 (216th)
4. John Kuehn, age 21 (218th)
5. Kyle Fitzgerald, age 17 (271st)

The top five overall finishers from Somers were:

1. Mike Tiroletto, age 31 (223rd)
2. Johnny Poitras, age 17 (228th)
3. Ben Constant, age 16 (844th)
4. Jim Jewell, age 49 (1357th)
5. Al Diaz, age 47 (1408th)
