Woman Charged With Manslaughter in Son's Death
The cause of the 3-year-old boy's death was determined to be acute methadone intoxication.

STAFFORD, CT — A Stafford woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of her 3-year-old son nearly six months ago.
Jessica York, 24, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and three counts each of risk of injury to a child and first-degree reckless endangerment. She was held in lieu of $500,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Rockville Superior Court.
According to a state police report, late in the morning of April 22, 2017, emergency responders received a 911 call from York, reporting her son was unresponsive. EMS personnel made a presumption of death on the boy, and the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad was called to the scene.

The office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the boy died of acute methadone intoxication, and ruled his death a homicide, the report says.
