10K Fundraising Walk at Asnuntuck To Support Special Olympics Athletes, Young Adults in North Central CT

A 10K Walk to raise money for sports & recreation programs at Allied Rehabilitation Centers will be held at Asnuntuck Community College on Saturday, June 20. Enfield Mayor Scott Kaupin will cut the ribbon to start the event at 10:00 a.m. (The attached photo shows Mayor Kaupin starting the 10K Walk in 2014, assisted by Special Olympics Local Coordinator Linda Burnell.)
The walk will benefit athletes from throughout north central CT who compete in Special Olympics events, as well as young adults who participate in after-hours and weekend recreation programs. Neither of these programs receives state funding.
Walkers who collect at least $25 in pledges will receive a t-shirt and lunch. Businesses, families and individuals are invited to purchase sponsor signs, which will be posted around the track. Sponsor and pledge forms are available at Allied’s offices at 3 Pearson Way in Enfield, across the street from DMV.

A Go Fund Me page has been established for the 10K Walk at http://www.gofundme.com/vs7s4s. Allied Rehabilitation Centers is a 501c(3) not for profit subsidiary of Allied Community Services; all donations are tax deductible.
