2 Charged After Enfield PD Crack Raid: Police

Enfield police and federal law enforcers seized crack cocaine from an Enfield apartment.

ENFIELD, CT — The Enfield Police Department, with assistance from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration New England Special Response Team and the DEA Hartford Resident Office, executed a search and seizure warrant on Thursday at an apartment on Walnut Street following a lengthy investigation into suspected drug activity.

Police said the investigation was prompted by numerous citizen complaints reporting a high volume of suspected narcotics activity at 8 Walnut St., Apartment D.

During the search, officers seized about 20 grams of crack cocaine and arrested two people.

Christel Clarke, 50, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and use of drug paraphernalia.

Eugene Joseph, 39, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and use of drug paraphernalia.

Both were held on $50,000 surety bonds and are scheduled to be presented in Hartford Superior Court.
