ENFIELD, CT — Two women were injured, one seriously, following a fire that engulfed a single-family home at the corner of Pearl Street and Riverdale Road Friday afternoon.
A video of the fire posted on a neighbor's Facebook page showed heavy smoke and flames billowing out the south side of the structure.
The two women were home at the time of the blaze and were transported to an area hospital. One was expected to be released Friday night, while the other "will have a longer hospital stay and is expected to survive," according to Paul Januszewski, deputy chief of the Enfield Fire Department.
