2 Stabbed When Altercation Turns Violent In Enfield: Police

ENFIELD, CT — Two people were stabbed in Enfield Monday night when a domestic altercation turned violent, police said.

The incident took place in the area of Maratea Place.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals, according to Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox. One suffered minor injuries and the other was is more serious condition, he said. Neither injury seemed to be life-threatening, he added.

At 8:59 p.m., Enfield police received a 911 call regarding a stabbing that just occurred at a home on Maratea Place, according to a report.

Two Officers arrived quickly and discovered two people had sustained multiple stab wounds, according to a report.

Both were treated at area hospitals and eventually released, according to a report.

The suspect was identified as Stephen Trepp, 72, who lived at the home. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of peace.

Trepp was transported to a local hospital due to "unrelated medical issues" and a court proceeding had not been scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon, Fox said.

A $50,000 bond was attached to his case, Fox said.
