3 Families Affected by Fire at Enfield Residence

The fire at a multi-family building displaced one family for the night, fire officials said.

ENFIELD, CT — One family was displaced for the night and two others received assistance from the American Red Cross after a fire at a multi-family house in Thompsonville Wednesday night.

The fire, reported at 9:15 p.m., mainly involved an enclosed rear porch on the second floor of a dwelling at 30 Cottage Green. Several other units sustained minor smoke and water damage, Thompsonville Fire Chief Bill Provencher said.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, and no injuries were reported. Mutual aid was provided by all five Enfield fire departments, Provencher said.

Fire Marshal Paul Censki was still working at the scene Thursday morning to determine the cause of the blaze, Provencher said.
