ACC to Hold Commencement on May 26th

Asnuntuck Community College will hold its 43rd Commencement ceremony at Springfield Symphony Hall in Springfield, MA. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 6:00 p.m.

This year’s graduation speaker is Joseph P. Gasparino Jr., 2003 graduate of ACC, and Chief Executive Officer, Blackland Aerospace in Elkhart, IN. Mr. Gasparino has more than 12 years of business experience, most recently as the President of Kessington Machine products, a high precision machining company for aircraft engines and landing systems.

He was previously the General Manager for Chromalloy San Antonio, one of the world's largest non-OEM providers of advanced coatings, repairs and replacement parts for gas turbine engines.

He also led a manufacturing Business Unit at Barnes Aerospace in Windsor, Connecticut. 2001-

Asnuntuck was an extremely important part of my career as it helped with a career transition in my life. Like many others, I was finding myself along the way. I always wanted to be an engineer but as I got out into the field I felt I was born for leadership and running businesses,” said Gasparino. He added, “My time at Asnuntuck gave me the confidence and exposure to further my education in business and make my inner desire transpire.”

Mr. Gasparino holds an A.S. in Business Administration from Asnuntuck Community College, Enfield, CT; B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA; M.B.A. with a finance concentration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA; and currently obtaining a D.B.A. with a focus on Lean Six Sigma Implementation within Aerospace from the Walden University, Minneapolis, MN.

Mr. Gasparino is also a trained Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Expert.
