ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT

• Four students from Enfield were named to the dean's list at Southern Connecticut State University for the fall 2018 semester. They are Alyssa Haskins, Sarah Carroll, Jessica Maier and Connor Shannahan. In order for undergraduate students to qualify for the dean’s list, students must complete 12.0 or more credits in fall or spring and earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Six Enfield residents were among 1,595 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2018 semester: Zachary Boyer, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in robotics engineering and mechanical engineering; Rachel Aston, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in mechanical engineering; Jason Chen, a member of the class of 2022 majoring in chemical engineering; Nicholas Bergstrom, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in mechanical engineering; Parker Simpson, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in bioinformatics and computational biology; and Daniel Marsh, a member of the class of 2022 majoring in biomedical engineering. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
