Asnuntuck Foundation Announces Sponsors for Dueling Pianos

Asnuntuck Community College Foundation has announced sponsors for its Dueling Pianos fundraiser on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at La Notte Event Center in East Windsor.

Grand Piano title sponsors for the event are PeoplesBank; Trinity Health Johnson Memorial; and Vista Produce. Table sponsors for the night include Allied Community Services; Family and Friends of Sean St. James; Soapy Noble Express Car Wash; Noble Gas and EV; Keating Real Estate and M&T Bank. Sharp Note sponsors include Berkshire Bank and Bartholomew Electric, Scholarship sponsor for the event is 360 Federal Credit Union. The Reception sponsor is Andrews. Friend sponsors are Follett Bookstore; Camerota Truck Parts, Westfield Bank; CCR Select Homes; Peter Falk and Family; Dr. Teresa Foley; Dr. James Lombella; Keith Madore; Healthtrax, and McCaffrey Law Firm, and DG Graphics. Piano Key sponsors include Freshwater Veterinary Hospital and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Springfield Enfield.

Funds from the event will be used to help support student scholarships and programs at the college. The evening will also include a great hors d'oeuvres reception and silent auction with gift cards, baskets, and sports memorabilia. New to this year's event will be dessert from Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and a spirit and wine toss. The evening will feature New York City Upscale Dueling Pianos performers Steve Laureti and David Ross. The performing duo will entertain the audience in an interactive evening, featuring a variety of tunes, including the music of Billy Joel, Journey, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, and more. An added way to support the cause will be for audience members to tip for scholarships and have the chance to hear their favorite songs.

Last year, the Asnuntuck Foundation was able to award $70,000 in scholarships due in large part to events like this.

In Enfield, ACC offers associate degrees, certificates, and short-term workforce training to prepare students for careers, transfer opportunities, and lifelong learning. The college was established in 1969 as the 12th Connecticut state community college system institution. Classes began in 1972 in the former North School Building in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, with an initial enrollment of 251. Later, Asnuntuck moved to a leased warehouse on Phoenix Avenue before growing out of the space and relocating in 1983 to its current location at 170 Elm Street. The college added its advanced manufacturing program in 1998, and in 2017 added a 27,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Center. Since its first graduating class in 1974, more than 7,844 credit graduates and non-credit certificate completers have been awarded 12,816 degrees, certificates, and non-credit certificates from Asnuntuck Community College.

Asnuntuck is among 12 community colleges in Connecticut merging in 2023 to become CT State Community College, one of the largest community colleges in the country and largest in New England, dedicated to quality, access, and affordability. CT State students will be able to apply once and take classes at any campus.
