Asnuntuck Named Military Friendly
Asnuntuck Community College announced that it has earned the 2020-2021 Military Friendly® School designation.

Asnuntuck Community College announced that it has earned the 2020-2021 Military Friendly® School designation. “Asnuntuck Community College is pleased to once again be recognized for its service to veterans.
“The college prides itself on being able to deliver to veterans the respect and education that they have earned as a result of their service to our country,” Dr. James P. Lombella, President of Asnuntuck Community College. The college currently has more than 100 active military and veterans enrolled at its Enfield campus and has a Veterans Oasis Center for students to study, relax and meet other veteran students. Asnuntuck, along with Tunxis Community College, will serve for the third year as a 2020 sponsor of the Hartford Yard Goat's Military Family of the Game, at each of the home games for the baseball team.
Beth Egan, ACC’s Veterans Coordinator, has direct contact with ACC’s active duty and veteran students. “It is an honor for Asnuntuck to receive this recognition.” She adds, “We pride ourselves on our philosophy that students come first. Our military and veteran students make up an important part of our community.”

The 2020-2021 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions.
The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. Data calculations and tabulations were independently evaluated for completeness and accuracy by Ernst & Young. The survey is administered for free and is open to all post-secondary schools that wish to participate. Criteria for consideration can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
Military Friendly’s National Director Josh Rosen stated, “Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to colleges creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to invest in programs to provide educational outcomes that are better for the Military Community as a whole.”
