Asnuntuck Student Elected VP of International Honor Society
Asnuntuck's students and administrator were honored during Phi Theta Kappa's International Catalyst virtual conference.

Asnuntuck Community College (ACC) students and CEO were honored during Phi Theta Kappa’s International Catalyst virtual conference in April.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recognizes the academic achievement of community college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Established in 1918, this honor society has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations.
During the ceremony’s ACC's CEO Michelle Coach received the Distinguished Regional Coordinator Award. ACC student Victoria Orifice was elected International Vice President for Division 1 and earned honors as a Distinguished Chapter Officer. Five community college students have been elected to represent their peers as Phi Theta Kappa International Officers for the 2020-2021 academic year. This is the highest position of leadership available for a PTK member. The students were elected by their peers during PTK Catalyst 2020 which was held virtually from April 16-17. This leadership team will represent more than 240,000 active Phi Theta Kappa members.

Asnuntuck's Alpha Lambda Zeta chapter placed fourth for the Most Distinguished Chapter in the world. The Chapter also was recognized for their Distinguished College Project (one of 51 awarded), Distinguished Honors in Action Award (one of 51 awarded), Distinguished Chapter Award (one of 37 awarded) and Distinguished Honors in Action Theme Award (one of three chapters for theme three). The New England region, which Asnuntuck's chapter is part of, won a Regional Award for Excellence in Membership Recruitment and a Regional Award for Excellence in Chapter Engagement.
