Barbara was a caring CNA to Alzheimer patients at Kettlebrook until her retirement. She was a devoted gardener and her gardens were her pride in which she enjoyed much of her free time. Through the years her lawn became smaller and smaller as her gardens became larger and larger. She was the true New Englander and a fervent Boston Red Sox fan in which her daughter never heard the end of it when they finally won the World Series in 2004.

She loved spending time with her grandson Andre, especially cuddling up together to watch fishing and animal shows. She was a lover of art and history. She would bring her daughter to art galleries and historical places even though she wanted to go to Disney instead, later in life her daughter learned to love the same and cannot tell her enough how she appreciated the education she provided her. Barbara was talented with a sewing machine, a gift she passed down to her granddaughter.
