Barbara Oliver, 86; Lifelong Enfield Resident Who Was A Member of Holy Family Church

The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 8.

Barbara (Carenzo) Oliver, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday (Jan. 2, 2015) at Blair Manor, Enfield.

She was born on June 14, 1928 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT., the daughter of the late Gustave D. and Elizabeth R. (Landry) Carenzo and was a lifelong resident.

She was formerly employed with Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co., G. Fox Dept. Store and retired from Finast Warehouse, Windsor Locks.

Barbara was member of Holy Family Church and volunteered her time helping on different committees and events. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting having made several prayer shawls, crossword puzzles, playing the piano and spending time with family.

Barbara is survived by her children; Nels Oliver & wife Kim of Westfield, MA, Elizabeth Terry of Seattle, WA and Eric Oliver & wife Marie of Enfield, her six grandchildren; Josh, Justin, Michelle, Samantha, Nathan, Crystal, Nichols, Robin, Amber and Dominique, her five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Joseph Carenzo of Somers, CT., along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Barbara was also predeceased by a sister; Ruth Carenzo and a brother Robert Carenzo.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (Jan. 8, 2015) at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT 06082.
