Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University theatre and new media studies students attended the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) at Cape Cod Community College from Jan. 28-Feb. 1. Among the student performers and behind-the-scenes technicians recognized was Katelynn Scalia of Enfield, who majors in English and Theatre. In the category of management, Scalia was recognized for her stage management in the immersive, interactive theatre experience "To Damascus."

Emmanuel College, Boston MA

  • In honor of their outstanding academic achievement, Emmanuel College has named more than 800 students to the Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester, including Aurelie Barry and Catherine Thomas, both of Enfield. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

  • Allison Nicole Hayden, of Enfield, was named to the University of Alabama Dean's List for fall 2019. Students enrolled during the 2019 fall term at UA were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

  • Art work by Jessica Vaughn of Enfield was chosen for the University of Hartford's Goldfarb Juried Student Exhibition. This exhibition, which includes works from the Hartford Art School's most talented students, will be on display in the University's Joseloff Gallery through Feb. 20. The gallery is located on the UHart campus at 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Western New England University congratulates close to 500 students named to the fall 2019 President's List. Enfield honorees and their majors are Nathaniel Hodgdon, Economics; Joshua Martinez, General Business; Danielle Orr, Accounting; Michael Middleton, Marketing; Steven Rinaldi, Biomedical Engineering; Chase La Russo, Industrial Engineering; Ali Almusalli, Mechanical Engineering; and Maria Concha Sanchez, Arts & Sciences.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • Rebecca Richard of Enfield, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project through the WPI project center in Australia. The project was titled Cluster Opportunities in Gippsland: Facilitating the Development of a Biocluster. In their project summary, the students wrote, "The goal of this project was to assist Snowy River Innovation and Gippsland Climate Change Network in developing a biocluster knowledge platform for Gippsland, Victoria."
