Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Four Eastern Connecticut State University History majors presented their projects at the history honor society's Phi Alpha Theta New England regional conference on Nov. 23. The Phi Alpha Theta conference highlighted research on topics ranging from gender and power to colonial and imperial legacies, and was held at Salem State University in Salem, MA. Among the student presenters was Katelynn Scalia of Enfield, who majors in English and Theatre. Their project was titled "The Other Eleanor: Rosalynn Carter, An Overlooked First Lady."

- Anthony Burkhart of Enfield was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Burkhart was initiated at Washburn University. Burkhart is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA
- Kayla Baez of Enfield, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in civil engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research through the WPI project center in Panama. The project was titled Development of a Self-Guided Tour for El Cano Archeological Park. In their project summary, the students wrote, "The goal of this project is to design a mobile application and a brochure to make the archaeological interpretation of the site accessible to French and English speakers."
