ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Colby College, Waterville ME

• Azoya M. Clarke of Enfield enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, this fall. Before classes began Sept. 4, Clarke took part in a weeklong orientation that included an introduction to academic and intellectual life at Colby, participation in an outdoor education trip (COOT), and an address by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Professor of Sociology and African-American Studies Cheryl Townsend Gilkes at Colby's 202nd Convocation. A graduate of Loomis Chaffee School, Clarke is the daughter of Bobbett Johnson.

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison NJ

• Hemali Patel, of Enfield, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus, located in Madison, NJ, has graduated with a DPY in Pharmacy as of May 2019.

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT

• The Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team won the Adelphi Panther Invitational to kick off the 2019 season, finishing in first place out of 12 competing teams. The Owls had four runners finish in the top five. Senior Connor Shannahan of Enfield finished in first place with a time of 25:59.10.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

• Hadi Alshahrani, Collin Atwood, Diego Claudio, Enrique Claudio, Nicholas Critz, Samantha Dumas, Cheyenne Hrapek, Daniel Hurlburt, Matthew Johnson, Sandy Molina, Joseph Partridge, Kelsey Rider, Charles Ruffin and Colin Wright, all of Enfield, made the spring 2019 Dean's List at Springfield College.
