Car Driven by Enfield Man Takes Out Pole in Somers
The crash was Friday, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — A car driven by an Enfield man slammed into a pole and snapped it in half on Friday in Somers, state police said.
State police said that at 1:28 a.m., a 2001 Ford Truck driven by Michael Bajek, 58, of Enfield, was traveling southbound on Route 83 near Sokol Road when he veered off the road and stuck a pole, state police said.
The pole snapped in half, and Bajek tried to flee from the scene, state police said.

The car, however, stopped running about seven-tenths of a mile south of the pole, state police said.
He was not injured, state police said.
