Celebrate Earth Day: Volunteer at Enfield Clean Sweep
Volunteers Needed for Enfield Clean Sweep April 22
The Enfield Beautification Committee is seeking volunteers for the Annual Enfield Clean Sweep on Sunday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Clean Sweep is a community based volunteer effort to clear identified parts of town of trash and litter. Volunteers spend this two hour period of time, or whatever time they can spend, walking around town to collect litter. According to Enfield Beautification Chairman, Tim Norris, “Last year’s efforts filled a 15 yard dumpster of litter, which shows the amount of litter throughout town. This year’s event is scheduled for Earth Day. We are encouraging residents to celebrate Earth Day by volunteering to help keep Enfield clean.”
Volunteers will receive an event tee shirt, as well as work gloves and trash bags. Anyone wishing to volunteer can simply show up at the Enfield Town Green on Sunday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. or contact Darren Ketchale at 860.698.9748 or ketchaled@aetna.com.
