Charlene L. Bond, 71; Director of Enfield's IT Department

Charlene L. Bond, of Enfield, passed from her earthly journey at the age of 71, on Sunday (Jan. 11, 2015) in the comfort of her home.

Charlene was born on July 16, 1943 in Rockville, CT the daughter of the late Charles Smith and Margaret (Mitterholzer) Smith Jones.

She had resided in Enfield for the past 43 years. Prior to retiring in 2007 Charlene was employed for 35 years with the Town of Enfield as Director of the IT Department, having been recognized for running one of the most efficient municipal IT Departments for the population size of Enfield in the nation.

In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed living in Enfield and being involved with her town.

Charlene is survived by her loving children Dylan Bond & his wife Sandra of East Longmeadow, MA and Carrie Temple & her husband George of Enfield, her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Grace Bond, James Bond and Lila Bond, her step granddaughter Jaclyn Valley and her son Camden, along with her grand dogs, Maddie & Jack.

Friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday (Jan. 15, 2015) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (Jan. 16, 2015) at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield (Meet at Church). Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
