Charles 'Chuck' Johnson III, 56; Long-time Enfield Resident, Former Board of Education Vice Chair

Charles “Chuck” L. Johnson III, 56, loving husband of Marjorie (Duquette) Johnson for 34 years, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Hartford Hospital.

He was born Jan. 17, 1958 in Hartford to the late Charles and Lorraine (Pomelow) Johnson Jr.

Chuck lived in Enfield most of his life, graduating from Enfield High School, class of 1976. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and was employed by Cigna for 34 years. Active in the Enfield community, Chuck was a former vice-chairman on the Enfield Board of Education and was also a member of the ERTC. He was a proud supporter and fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball team.

Besides his wife Marjorie, he is survived by a daughter Emily Johnson of Enfield; two brothers Michael C. Johnson and his wife, Philomena of Plantsville, and Daniel S. Johnson and his wife, Cheryl of Oakdale; several nieces and nephews and four grand-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be private.

Donations in Chuck’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
