ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern's rendition of "Pluto" took center stage at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) earlier this month. "Pluto" was one of only three productions featured at the Region 1 festival, which includes colleges and universities from all over New England and New York, including New York City. The festival occurred from Jan. 29-Feb. 2 at Cape Cod Community College and included an awards portion and theatre workshops. Among the students was Caraline Gartrell of Enfield, who majors in Theatre. Gartrell was an attendee at the KCACTF conference.

  • Six students from Enfield were named to the fall 2018 President's List at WNEU. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher. Local honorees and their majors are Heidi Isbister, Creative Writing; Paige Hebert, Psychology; Cheyenne Millett, Psychology; Nicholas Krasinkiewicz, Mechanical Engineering; Michael Bemont, Business Analytics & Information Management; and Michael Middleton, Marketing.
  • Western New England University congratulates more than 700 students, including 20 from Enfield, named to the fall 2018 Dean's List. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
