College Accomplishments By Enfield Students

ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

• Twenty-four students were recently inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society at American International College (AIC) in Springfield, MA. Alpha Chi is the prestigious national honor society that accepts only the top 10% of juniors and seniors in all academic fields. It recognizes and promotes scholarship and the elements of character that make scholarship effective for good. Established in 1949, this is the 70th anniversary of the Massachusetts Chapter of Alpha Chi at AIC. Honorees from Enfield are Leah LaBrecque, majoring in Nursing, Class of 2021; and Tyler Watts, majoring in Occupational Science, Class of 2021.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

• Samuel Kelly of Enfield was one of 635 graduates to receive a degree during Assumption College's 102nd Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 12, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester.
• The Assumption College Office of Student Affairs has announced that 25 Assumption students have been selected among several applicants to serve as a 2019 Orientation Leader.
  Enfield students in the group are Caterina Fonseca, a member of the class of 2022, and Justin Rankin, a member of the class of 2021.
• Assumption College has announced that 558 undergraduate students, or recent graduates, have been named to the College's prestigious Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. Among those honorees are four from Enfield: Jessica Follo, Kennedy O'Hara, Justin Rankin and Noah Veilleux. To receive recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester.

Cedarville University, Cedarville OH

• Eric Barnes, a Environmental Science major from Enfield, was named to the Dean's List at Cedarville University. This recognition required Barnes to maintain a 3.5 minimum GPA and carry at least 12 credit hours for the spring 2019 semester.

Lehigh University, Bethlehem PA

• Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been granted to Max Schepps of Enfield in the spring 2019 semester.
