- Eastern Connecticut State University recent graduate, Kaley Kennedy of Enfield, is one of two Health Sciences majors who were recently accepted into doctor of occupational therapy degree programs. Both students are members of the first Health Sciences graduating class since the program was created in 2014.
Kennedy's concentration was pre-nursing and she was a member of Phi Theta Delta, Eastern's Health Sciences honor society. She will be attending Western New England University in Springfield, MA. Kennedy works in the special education department in the East Windsor public school system, where she observed an occupational therapist in both in- and out-patient settings, helping familiarize her with the field. She also works at Strong Foundations in Vernon to assist children diagnosed with autism, Asperger Syndrome, social communication disorder and other related disabilities, as well as language and cognitive delays. She attributes her experiences at both places as a major influence in her interest in occupational therapy.
Manchester Community College, Manchester CT
- Manchester Community College is pleased to announce its roster of students achieving President’s List recognition for the spring 2018 semester. The President’s List recognizes the exceptional scholarship of full- and part-time students who earn a 4.0 or “A” grade point average in their courses. Full-time students who have completed at least 12 credits for the semester with no withdrawals or incomplete grades in the semester are eligible for this honor. Part-time students who have earned a 4.0 GPA with no withdrawals or incompletes in the semester, and have accumulated 12 credits at MCC, are eligible for the Part-Time President’s List. Full time honorees from Enfield are Lauren Attenello and Jacqueline Reiss; part timers are Melissa Bilgen, Victoria Chevalier, Lourdes Cruz-Martinez, Matthew Levasseur, Adrian Martinez, Leslie OBrien, Xiomara Rodriguez, Heidi Thibodeau and Lisa Trotta.
