Assumption College, Worcester MA
- Assumption recognized 75 students with awards for academic excellence during the 35th Annual Honors Convocation on April 15. Awards ranged from departmental honors to special recognitions, to Assumption's highest honor, Augustine Scholarships. During the ceremony, Samuel Kelly of Enfield, a member of the Class of 2019, received the Prof. James McCarthy Scholarship for the Study of Economics or Global Studies.

- Five instrumentalists from Eastern Connecticut State University recently performed among the best undergraduate musicians in the Northeast. A clarinetist, a flautist, a percussionist and two trombonists represented Eastern's Music Program in an "honors band" at the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Band Festival on March 29-30 at Gordon College in Massachusetts. Among the students was Emily Miclon of Enfield, who plays percussion and is mentored by Professor Jeff Calissi. Miclon majors in Music. The honors band consisted of approximately 75 young musicians who auditioned from colleges and universities across the region. This year's guest conductor was T. Andrea Feagin of Colorado State University.
