American International College, Springfield MA

  • Sarah Strout, of Enfield, received a graduate degree in School Leadership from American International College at the 134th Commencement in May. More than 22 states and nine countries were represented by more than 600 students at the ceremony.
  • American International College awarded more than 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees with students representing 22 states and nine countries at the 134th Commencement on May 11, 2019. Graduates from Enfield were Anton Hoffman, bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts; Justin Lipscomb, bachelor's degree in Communications; Lance Powell, bachelor's degree in Management; Nicholas Romei, bachelor's degree in Management; Jacob Runyon, bachelor's degree in Accounting; and Jaclyn Scott, bachelor's degree in Public Health.
  • American International College (AIC) has named 463 students to the spring 2019 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA. Among those recognized are Enfield residents Justin Lipscomb, Aneida Molina, Amber Ollari, Aditi Panchal, Sarah Pelletier, Nicholas Romei, Jacob Runyon and Nathan Valle.

  • Eastern Connecticut State University's Social Work Program held its annual Phi Alpha Honor Society Induction ceremony on May 18 in the Betty Tipton Room of the Student Center. At the ceremony 38 new members were inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social work. Among the inductees was Lauryn Wille of Enfield, who majors in Social Work.
  • Eastern Connecticut State University's Honors Program held its senior reception on May 18 in the Johnson Room of the J. Eugene Smith Library. The event celebrated the achievements of 25 graduating students enrolled in the university's highly selective Honors Programs. Emily Miclon of Enfield, who majors in Music, was congratulated for her outstanding academic achievements and her senior thesis titled "La Musique en Plein Air: Debussy's Open Air Emplacement." She was also the recipient of the Phillip F.Elliot Exceptional Thesis Award. Jessica Miclon of Enfield, who majors in English, was congratulated for her outstanding academic achievements and her senior thesis titled "'Dilated': Vaginismus Within a Novel in Stories." She was also presented a Certificate of Recognition.

Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH

  • 437 students have been named to the Plymouth State University Dean's List for the Spring 2019 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.69 during the spring semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. Honorees from Enfield were Jamason Pestana, an Adventure Education major, and Nathan Shannahan, a Criminal Justice major.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • On Saturday, May 11, on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) campus quadrangle, 1,019 bachelor's degrees were awarded during the university's 151st commencement ceremony. Zachary Boyer of Enfield was awarded a bachelor of science degree in robotics engineering, and Thomas Mackintosh of Enfield was awarded a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering.
