College Freshman from Enfield Earns Athletic Honor

NEW HAVEN, CT — Freshman Jessica Maier of Enfield, a member of the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey squad, has been named this week's Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week.

In her second week as an Owl, Maier collected her first collegiate points (two goals and an assist), which included the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over Molloy on Sept. 9.

She was also named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Female Athlete of the Week.

The Owls are back in action Tuesday, traveling to LIU Post for an afternoon showdown at 4 p.m.
