Congressman & Commanding Officer of Naval Sub Base to Come to ACC

The public is invited on April 30th at 1:30 p.m. to hear ACC Alumnus & Commanding Officer of Naval Submarine Base Capt. Paul Whitescarver.

United States Congressman Joe Courtney and Asnuntuck Community College’s (ACC) Foundation are co-hosting a visit to Asnuntuck Community College from Asnuntuck Alumnus Captain Paul Whitescarver. The Congressman will accompany the Captain to the campus.

Captain Paul Whitescarver, Commanding Officer of Naval Submarine Base New London, will visit Asnuntuck on Monday, April 30, 2018.

Captain Paul Whitescarver graduated from ACC in 1989, with an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. He became the 51st Commanding Officer of Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut in December, 2015. His assignments have included service on the Joint Staff and the Chief of Naval Operations staff. He commanded the USS Scranton (SSN 752) from 2009 to 2012.

While on campus, the ACC Foundation will sponsor a lite lunch for the Captain and Asnuntuck Veterans in the Oasis (Operation Academic Support for Incoming Service Members) Center.

Following lunch, the Captain will address students, faculty and staff in the College’s new Conference Center at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to this portion of the day.
