Construction Begins On Solar Farm In Eastern Enfield

Sale of the land to Nutmeg Solar LLC was officially recorded last week, and site work has begun.

ENFIELD, CT — Site clearing and construction has begun on a 19.6-megawatt AC solar photovoltaic electric generating facility on Broad Brook Road, as sale of the land was officially recorded last week at the Enfield town clerk's office.

According to property records, Nutmeg Solar LLC purchased about 162 acres of farmland on Broad Brook, Charnley and Bailey roads in two separate transactions from Laura Jarmoc and James Lefebvre. Combined sale price was $2,756,048.

Site construction is being performed by NextEra Energy Resources, LLC of Juno Beach, Fla., with Supreme Industries of Harwinton listed as the civil contractor, according to documents filed with the Connecticut Siting Council.
