Man Sentenced In Bank Robbery Spree That Included Enfield (patch.com) — Enfield readers are learning that a Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison for a multi-state bank robbery spree that included the American Eagle Credit Union in town. Investigators, including Enfield police and the FBI, tied him to 14 robberies using DNA from discarded items, and he must also pay more than $82,000 in restitution.

Police ID 2 Found Dead Inside Enfield Home (patch.com) — Enfield police have identified the two residents found dead inside a Foxhill Lane home as Michael Tellier and Amber Tetreault, who were discovered in a converted living room bedroom. Authorities report no signs of foul play, though they noted heavy alcohol use and prescription medications at the scene, and the medical examiner is investigating the cause of death.

Solar Company Leases 125,000 Square Feet In Enfield (patch.com) — A Massachusetts solar company has signed a multi-year lease for 125,000 square feet at the former Hallmark property on Manning Road in Enfield, bringing new clean-energy business activity to town. While rental price, move-in date, and job numbers aren't disclosed, the large industrial space near I-91 signals fresh commercial use for a long-standing local site.
   

4. Two Yonkers men charged in connection to stolen cooking oil from Connecticut businesses (news12.com) — Enfield businesses were targeted in an alleged used cooking oil theft scheme, with police arresting two Yonkers men after stopping a box truck at a local shopping plaza. Officers seized the truck, a large storage tank, equipment, and about $10,000 in cash, and believe the vehicle may be tied to similar thefts along the I-91 corridor that can hurt local businesses' bottom lines.
   

5. CT State Middlesex Offers Accelerated Classes This Fall (patch.com) — Local students looking to pick up credits quickly can enroll in accelerated fall courses through CT State Middlesex, with options starting in September and October. While classes are based in Middletown, Enfield residents can also apply once and take courses at the Enfield campus or any other CT State location, with financial aid and payment plans available for those who qualify.
