Credit Union Day Celebration a Success at TVTFCU

The Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union (TVTFCU) in Enfield recently celebrated the 70th Anniversary of International Credit Union Day with this year’s theme of, “Find Your Platinum Lining in Credit Unions.” Credit union’s and their members around the world celebrate this event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide an effective and viable alternative to for-profit financial institutions for millions of members in 117 countries worldwide. More than 89,000 credit unions exist globally, providing a plethora of financial services for their members, recognized as a force for positive economic and social change. Any profit made by a credit union is returned to its members through higher savings rates and lower loan rates.

TVTFCU celebrated by providing refreshments, give-a-ways and prizes. A Liberty Mutual Insurance representative was on hand to provide information about discounts and benefits exclusively for credit union members. The credit union also offered “TVTFCU Days at Costco” where TVTFCU members could visit Costco in Enfield even if they did not have a Costco membership.

The Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union located at 182 South Road in Enfield, Connecticut opened in 1936 and continues to offer a variety of services to its members, including savings and checking accounts, loans, online services and more.
