A Massachusetts man was involved in a pair of pursuits which ended in a crash in Enfield.

ENFIELD, CT — State police have released details about the pursuit of a man wanted in Massachusetts on a felony warrant, who engaged troopers in a high speed chase beginning in Somers and ultimately crashed head-on into another vehicle in Enfield.
John Castillo, 19, of Holyoke, Mass., is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond on an extradition arrest, and was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Rockville Superior Court.
According to a state police report, Troop C in Tolland was contacted Tuesday afternoon by Massachusetts State Police, saying Castillo had evaded their Fugitive Unit and engaged in a pursuit, striking two trooper vehicles in the process.

Shortly thereafter, Castillo was spotted near Sonny's Place on Route 190 in Somers, where another pursuit began; it was eventually broken off at the Somers-Enfield line. Moments after the pursuit ended, the pursuing officer came upon Castillo's car, a 2004 Honda Accord, which had collided with a 2010 Acura MDX, police said.
Castillo was transported to Hartford Hospital for evaluation, and subsequently arrested in connection with the pursuit. The Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Unit notified Troop C that Castillo is wanted on a felony warrant for assault and battery on a household or family member, and they will extradite, the report states.
