District 2 needs Robert "Bob" Gillespie

I’ve known Robert “Bob” Gillespie for more than 15 years, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that he’s stepping up to run for Enfield Town Council in District 2. Bob is Thompsonville through and through—he grew up on Burns Avenue and now lives on Walnut Street—but what defines him isn’t geography. It’s his lifelong commitment to serving our community.

Bob has worn many hats in service to Enfield: police dispatcher, auxiliary patrolman, and—most notably—firefighter with the Thompsonville Fire Department. Today, he teaches at Lincoln Technical School, preparing the next generation of electricians for in-demand high paying careers. He’s also been a steady volunteer on the Enfield Fourth of July Committee since 2011, served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and currently serves on the Inland & Wetlands Commission and as a Thompsonville Fire Commissioner, where for the last decade he’s focused on responsible budgeting, so taxpayers get the best value for their dollars. It’s no coincidence that the one recent year he wasn’t on the commission was the year taxes went up.

District 2 deserves a Councilor who understands our neighborhoods and will fight for what’s right. Bob Gillespie has earned our trust through years of hands-on service, common-sense leadership, and love for Enfield.
