He was a 2004 graduate of Enfield High School and also attended Asnuntuck Community College with a focus in Criminal Justice.
During his formative years, he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and creating works of art which were selected for display. It was while attending high school, that he was hired part time as a Local Sorter at United Parcel Services (UPS). This later provided Drew the opportunity for full time employment where he would be a member of Teamsters Local 671 for eleven years.

Drew was a very driven individual, give him a challenge and he would accept it and then challenge you back. Drew would say “they only want me to load one trailer? I’ll show them”...and show them he did, he loaded two! “Bring it on” he would say! His tenacity would lead him at the age of 21, to be one of the youngest employees promoted to the position of Package Car Driver, where he prided himself in improving his workplace efficiencies. He received numerous service awards for safe driving and had the opportunity to learn the entire hazmat process. Although he said he would never wear the “short” shorts as his uniform...when he was hot enough, he wore them.
Drew was a personable young man with an infectious smile and laugh; he was wonderful to be with. He had a natural ability to draw people to him, regardless of age. You could approach him with any topic and find common ground. If you needed a helping hand he would be there for you, no questions asked. He had an interest in every aspect of life and lived each day to the fullest.
Drew loved being outdoors and especially loved spending summer vacations at the beach with his family. He enjoyed boating, year round fishing, target and skeet shooting with his friends and his black lab Cali (short for California, a place that had special meaning to him). He enjoyed off-roading with his truck and attending mud bog events. Drew always looked forward to participating in the Shad Masters Fishing Tournament held during the annual Shad Derby Festival in Windsor. He was also a sports fan, supporting the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and the Hartford Whalers; attending many games.
Drew perfected his culinary skills taking notes from his Mom, who would tell him “there’s no such thing as not having anything in the house to eat, mix it up”. He believed people should be self-sustaining using natural resources. That’s what Drew did, harvesting herbs and vegetables from his own garden. He would experiment and create his own recipes and yes, he could top Mom or Dad’s cooking!
Drew enjoyed entertaining his many friends and family, whether it was with the food he prepared or a stunt where he would have everyone laughing to the point of bursting into tears. He would push everything to the limit. He naturally became the center of attention, but knew it’s place. He was the life of the party and always had something to say. This is just one of the many facets of Drew we will all miss.
He had a serious side too and was a deep thinker, who believed in our human rights and wasn’t afraid of a little confrontation. He was a history buff and enjoyed trivia.
Besides his loving parents he leaves his best friend and brother Nicholas S. Goulet; his maternal grandparents, James and Catherine Jaronczyk; paternal grandparents, Hector and Lilianne Goulet; his maternal great grandmother Carolyn Jaronczyk. Uncles and aunts, Joann and Andrew DiBattisto; Roger and Elizabeth Goulet; Suzanne and Christopher Sheffield; Sandra and Michael Armentano; cousins Paige Medina and Michael DiBattisto; Gregory and Matthew Goulet; Victoria and Erich Boecklin. There are many more aunts and uncles in the United States and Canada that Drew loved, as well as his many close friends and co-workers who are too numerous to mention.
” And in the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years.” - Abraham Lincoln
Drew’s family will receive family and friends January 30th, Friday from 4-8 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. A Funeral Service will be held January 31st, Saturday at 10 AM at Carmon’s in Windsor followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windsor Locks.
In lieu of flowers, we would like for everyone to perform a random act of kindness. Knowing people are doing good deeds on Drew’s behalf would be a wonderful way to honor him.
A celebration of Drew’s life will be held at a later date.
