EHS Unified Program Hosts Special Olympics Track and Field Night

The Enfield High School Unified Team hosted the JFK Unified Team, along with the Allied Stars, at the third annual track and field meet.

ENFIELD, CT — On June 5, the Enfield High School Unified Team hosted the JFK Unified Team, along with the Allied Stars, at the third annual track and field meet. Athletes participated in many fun events, including relay races, hurdles, sprints, javelin and shot put.

The annual event allows participants to enjoy fun-spirited competition while at the same time celebrating the efforts of their competitors, creating an atmosphere of teamwork and sportsmanship. The meet is an example of the on-going partnership between the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference and Connecticut Special Olympics.

The Enfield Unified Team was established in 1992 and is currently coached by Armando Ramos. The program, since its’ inception, has enjoyed success and recognition on both the state and national levels.
