The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Parents of the Enfield Community are concerned about the mask mandates for students in the Enfield Public Schools. Parents are questioning should students wear masks while attending school and participating in after school activities such as sports. I plan to research and gather pertinent information on this potential health issue. I would like to help bring resolution on this matter in a timely fashion.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I feel my longevity and experience an educator will bring value to this Board. During my tenure as a teacher and I was professionally trained in curriculum and educational standards/practices on a constant basis. I feel I will be able to make sound decisions for the betterment of the Enfield students.

Accomplishments:

I feel I would be an asset to the Board of Education because I am a retired teacher who taught in the Springfield Public Schools for forty years. With my experience and expertise in educational practices, I feel I would be a very good choice for this position. During my tenure as an educator, I taught the curriculum required by the district, served on School Decision Boards, and conferred with parents frequently and mentored a student for many years.

Other issues:

I think it is very important that all children receive the best education and it is the job of the Board to make sure that happens. Children are our future and they deserve the best we have to offer so they will become successful adults in our society. Giving children a strong foundation in education will promote a healthy and productive lifestyle. It would be an honor and a privilege to help make that happen for the Enfield students!

What else would you like voters to know about you?

Now that I am retired and I would like to give back to the community where I reside. I would like to do as much as I can to make sure that quality education is an integral part of the Enfield Public Schools. Enfield families should feel comfortable bringing their concerns to the Board. I also feel that any issues that parents have should be addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
