Occupation: Building Superintendent 3, Asnuntuck Community College

Family:I have two children who are 18 and 16. They both go to Enfield High. They are very supportive of me running for council and often assist with door knocking or super Saturday. I am the oldest of 3. My sister lives in Wilbraham, MA and both of my nephews are roughly the same age as my kids. My younger brother lives in Syracuse, NY and loves the fishing on Lake Ontario.

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

This single most pressing issue is to keep the current mill rate flat – no increase. All the residents I have spoken with do not want to see the mill rate increase. I intend to be fiscally responsible with the taxpayer’s dollars and only approve spending/projects that will bring value to town.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I recognize the needs of the entire town and always get back to my constituents via phone or email. I listen to all the citizens including the small group that shows up to the Council Chambers and feel I represent the entire community. I actively participate in all sub-committees that I am assigned and rarely miss a meeting.

Accomplishments:

I have been on the Town Council since 2017 and feel that I can do the job based on my past experience as a Town Councilor and all the various work we have done on the sub-committees.

Other issues:

I have been able to volunteer in Enfield on two major projects: the Enfield High School Building Committee and the JFK Pre-Referendum committee. These opportunities have allowed me to understand how our town government works and I truly love this town for all it has to offer.

Campaign platform: Leadership – Vision – Results

Top priority – updating town & school facilities and expanding ongoing maintenance programs

Strong Fiscal Health – saved 1.5 million in the last 2 years. Taxes rates were kept flat.

Budgets are tightly managed.

Recreational Expansion – Splash pads – community gardens, playscapes and athletic fields upgrades.

Public Safety: Technology advancements, police substations, community policing, and restored walking patrols

Preserve tax Credit – assistance to over 600 elderly residents

What else would you like voters to know about you?

There are a lot of priorities that will face the council in the upcoming 2 years. I feel it is important to get the four referendums to pass on Nov. 2nd. They are roads, roofs, recreation and the EMS Facility.

Another priority will be to keep the JFK Renovation on time and under budget, which it currently is. The estimated completion date will be August 2022. There is an excellent team working alongside the JFK Building Committee. The Construction Manager at Risk is Gilbane Construction Company (they are the same construction company that did Enfield High School), JCJ Architecture, which has worked in Enfield before and Construction Solutions Group who is the owner’s representative who also worked on Enfield High School. Together it is important to keep the lines of communication open with the community, as this school will be occupied during construction. I feel my experience as Building Superintendent will help stay on top of all of the issues that should arise throughout the entire process.

On November 2nd I ask you to vote for me, Joe Muller, and allow me to continue on the Town Council with the Republican team (on Row B) for the Town Council because I have the education and experience to continue to work for you and I’m ready for the challenge.
