The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
With two years on the council I am positive we should continue to improve our quality of life amenities to make Enfield a great community to live, visit and raise a family. We’ve added a new playscape, splash pad, walking path, and sports fields and basketball courts around town. We have a farmers market each Sunday on the green during the summer and inside the Enfield Square during the winter which is making Enfield a destination. We are renovating St. Adabert’s gym for community use. Our future plans include a path from the Parsons Road boat launch to the area near Kings Island. The riverbank in Enfield is an untapped gem with its beauty and nature such as nesting eagles. I want to work with the council and expand these assets.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have a successful bookkeeping business and extensive knowledge in budgeting and best practices in accounting and two years of experience on the council (during a pandemic) this has allowed me to use my training for Enfield residents and I have learned first hand about the running of town government.
Accomplishments:
Over the past two years I have learned the legislative process and understand how our local government works. My business experience was very helpful with budgets and understanding municipal finances including bonding of large projects and the overall needs of the community. We invested in Thompsonville by adding four dedicated Community Police Officers to do walking patrols. Community policing improves police-community relations and enables more effective responses to community problems.
I’ve enjoyed the experience of being on the council and look forward to continuing to making Enfield the very best.
Other issues:
Enfield’s fiscal health is very good AA+. We did not increase taxes this year and our mill-rate was flat. We found savings by re-issuing our bonds at a lower interest rate, which lowered our payments. We selected a new insurance carrier, consolidated buildings, and and sold several town owned properties to get them back on the tax rolls. Enfield has one of the best PCI (pavement condition index) of 82 in the state due to our ongoing Roads programs every 5 years. That means 136.3 miles of improved roads since 2000. Are we done? No. There is more and we hope the citizens of Enfield will pass the road referendum this election so the road work can continue.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I’ve been volunteering in the community for 14 years. I love our town and look forward to continuing to serve.
