The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Enfield’s massive bond debt poses a real problem for taxpayers. Our debt has increased from $25 million in 2006 to over $100 million today. The Republican Party has had majority control of the Town Council for the entirety of this 15-year period and appears to have no real plan to achieve fiscal responsibility.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am an attorney and I have the skills and training to understand the fine print. I am equipped to make the hard decisions necessary to balance supporting working families with managing the debt obligation that my opponent and the other Republicans on the Town Council have unfortunately let get out of hand.
Accomplishments:
I am proud of my work as a Connecticut Public Defender. I am a zealous advocate conditioned to operate in stressful situations as a result of representing juvenile clients in child protection, delinquency, and other matters. Assisting clients with empathy and enthusiasm has made me a well-seasoned public speaker, an expert legal reader, and a great listener.
Other issues:
I believe in policies that support families and our elderly residents. Enfield should be a place where you can build a fulfilling life for yourself and a community where you would want your grandkids to grow up.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I'm lucky to live in Enfield and I want to give back. If elected, I will work hard to bring innovative business opportunities to town while advocating for the needs of our town’s families. I will not spend $100,000 on a single splash pad while our bond debt soars. I will not put off vital infrastructure improvements until the last minute or pass costs along through hidden sewer taxes because I believe doing hurts residents.
