The complete message from Drezek was as follows:

Good evening,
This is Chris Drezek, Superintendent of the Enfield Public Schools, with a message for the students, parents, and staff of Henry Barnard School. Today, we were notified of a confirmed positive COVID-19 case with a member of the Henry Barnard community. We are working in direct contact with our local director of public health and are actively following our contact tracing protocols. Because of staffing constraints, Henry Barnard School will be closed for in-person learning tomorrow, Friday, September 25th. This closure will provide the district additional time to properly follow our contact tracing protocols and make the necessary staffing adjustments needed to reopen on Monday, September 28th. The school administration will be notifying any member of the community who could be considered a close contact as soon as possible. Students will be asked to follow our Wednesday remote learning schedule for tomorrow. I will be sending two letters to all families and staff shortly that will provide more details, but I wanted to get you this message as soon as possible. I realize that receiving this message is scary. Although my girls are older now, I can only imagine the angst that parents of young ones are feeling listening to this right now. Believe me, this is not a message I look forward to sending, but I want everyone to know that the safety and health of our students and staff is our greatest priority. We will continue to take every precaution to provide the safest environment possible for our students and staff.
