
ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police are investigating a robbery at the Santander Bank at 800 Enfield Street, and a suspect in the robbery is believed to be the same person who was shot by Suffield police shortly thereafter.
The robbery took place shortly before noon Thursday. Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said a number of officers and detectives are "scouring the area."
Early Thursday afternoon, state police reported an officer-involved shooting on Route 159 in Suffield. The person who was shot is believed to be the same person who robbed the bank.

Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said, "We are confident the person who robbed the bank is the same as the person who was shot."
Enfield police are at the shooting scene assisting Suffield officers, with the state police major crime unit en route, Sferrazza said.

The bank was robbed in November 2016, and again in early February.
