Enfield To Dedicate 152 Veteran Tribute Banners

The Rotary Club of Enfield said more than 300 people are expected at the town green dedication ceremony Tuesday evening.

ENFIELD, CT — The Rotary Club of Enfield will officially dedicate 152 commemorative military tribute banners Tuesday evening during a public ceremony at the Higgins Park bandshell on the new veteran banner display program previously announced earlier this year.

The event is scheduled for May 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 820 Enfield St. Organizers said veterans, family members, friends and community supporters are expected to attend, with turnout estimated at more than 300 people.

According to organizers, this is the first time Enfield has displayed military tribute banners throughout the community. The project was created through a partnership between the Rotary Club of Enfield and the Town of Enfield.

Organizers said all 152 banner spots for the 2026 and 2027 display periods have been filled. The banners are expected to remain up from Memorial Day through Veterans Day.

Tuesday’s ceremony is expected to include a short program, a military salute, participation from the Enfield High School marching band, local veterans organizations and coverage by ETV.
