ENFIELD, CT — Three incumbents each on the Enfield Town Council and Board of Education were endorsed for this fall's municipal election by the Democratic party during a caucus last Wednesday in the council chambers at town hall.

At-large council members Gina Cekala, Bob Cressotti and Cindy Mangini will all be seeking to retain their seats. They are joined on the ballot by political newcomer Doug Finger, a crew leader with the town's public works department for nearly 35 years.

"My platform is honesty, transparency and continuing to make Enfield the town where you want to move to and thrive," Finger said.

Republicans currently hold all four district seats on the council. Challengers this fall will be former Planning & Zoning Commission chairman Tony DiPace (1), John Santanella (2), Matt Despard (3) and Kelly Davis (4). The latter three have never previously held elected office in Enfield.

On the Board of Education ballot, incumbents Joyce Hall, Tina LeBlanc and Scott Ryder will be joined by newcomers Joshua Hamre and Amanda Pickett.

"I'm incredibly excited to be running with this specific team of caring and informed individuals - parents of Enfield students from Pre-K to EHS and a retired educator - who all put school affairs first, not politics," Ryder said.

The Republicans will conduct their caucus Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers. Election day is Nov. 2.
