Enfield Discusses Town Ordinances Regarding Tipper Barrels

The Department of Public Works reminds residents of protocol related refuse and recycling in Enfield.

From the Town of Enfield: The Town of Enfield Department of Public Works would like to remind residents of several important things related to placement of tipper barrels (refuse and recycling). Per the town ordinance, barrels shall be placed at the curb between dusk the day before your scheduled pickup and 7 a.m. the day of pickup. All barrels need to be removed from the curb by 8 am on the day after pickup. Be a good neighbor by following these set out and removal rules. Keep our sidewalks clear. Help our collectors be efficient. Avoid “missed” pick-ups and call backs which waste precious resources and cost the Town extra money.

In early December, all residents received a recycling magnet with important collection information (week of recycling pickup, holiday schedule, etc.). Please refer to the magnet and set out your recycling barrel on the proper week. Note that your recycling pickup schedule has remained the same as last year (i.e. if you were A/white week last year, you are A/white week this year, if you were B/blue week last year, you are B/blue week this year). On holiday weeks, pickups are usually delayed. See the calendar. If you misplaced your magnet, need additional information about your pick up or want more information about our recycling program, you can visit the website or call the DPW hot line at 860-763-7527 between the hours of 8 am and 3:30 pm. Thank you for helping to keep our town clean, recycling properly and adhering to the town ordinance.
