Enfield DMV Office to Be Closed Until January

A news release from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Enfield office of the Department of Motor Vehicles, closed for necessary repairs due to the late October snowstorm, will remain shut until January 2012.

The office, located at 4 Pearson Way, needs roof and other repairs to ensure the office remains structurally sound.

“We are working to keep the building safe and to ensure it poses no hazards to our employees and customers,” said DMV Commissioner Melody A. Currey.

Repairs to the Enfield office are expected to cost about $400,000 to fix damage to the roof, ceiling and other parts of the building. Enfield-based DMV employees will report to other offices while the office is renovated.

When it reopens, the Enfield office will continue to offer the DMV services it provided prior to the storm. These include driver license and commercial driver license renewals, identification card renewals, duplicate identification cards and driver licenses, name changes and the variety of registration and title services.
