Enfield Field Hockey Team Makes the Final Four [VIDEO]
The Eagles will play in the state semifinals after posting another victory Friday.
ENFIELD, CT — Seeking its sixth state championship, but first since 1994, the Enfield High School field hockey team took another big step Friday, holding off a tough Norwalk team in a 2-1 victory in the Class L quarterfinals.
Norwalk, the seventh seed, grabbed an early lead just over four minutes into the contest, but Jessie Maier made a great individual rush and fired in a shot from the right side of the circle to knot it at 1-1 heading into halftime.
After intermission, the Eagles tallied the game-winner on a goal by Kaitlyn Bourque, assisted by Maier, with 21:48 to play.
