Enfield Graduate Earns College Player-of-the-Week Honor
The former Raider was honored by the Little East Conference for the third time in his career.

Eastern Connecticut State University junior forward Hugh Lindo (Enfield) has become the third different member of the program in the last four weeks to be named men’s basketball Player-of-the-Week by the Little East Conference, it was announced Monday.
In the fifth report of the year, the 6-foot-4 inch Lindo follows teammates Tarchee Brown (Rockville) in the second report, and Trachone Preston (Enfield) in the third report as Player-of-the-Week selections. All three players were named to the All-LEC first team a year ago when Eastern won its second straight LEC regular-season title and third in four years.
In a 2-1 week which included an eight-point victory over No. 15 Trinity College and a 33-point Little East Conference triumph over Rhode Island College, Lindo totaled seven blocked shots and averaged 10.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists with a 52.2 shooting percentage.

Against RIC in the team’s second straight season-opening LEC win Saturday, Lindo had 11 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and five assists and sank at least half of his field goals (5-of-7) for the seventh time in ten games this year. In a 13-point loss at Connecticut College, Lindo submitted his third double-double of the year with 14 points (5-of-10 from the floor) and 12 rebounds and also blocked two shots.
Lindo, who has at least one blocked shot in all but one game this year, took over the program’s career lead in blocked shots per game (1.7) last week and in only two-plus seasons, has moved to within eight of establishing a program record for blocks, currently held by Leon Martin (117).

Lindo is ranked tied for seventh nationally in Division III in blocked shots (24).
In ten starts this year for the 7-3 Warriors, Lindo averages 9.8 points, and leads the team in rebounding (9.2), and field goal percentage (52.9) and shares the team lead in assists (3.1), steals (1.3) and blocks (2.4). He tops the LEC in blocks, blocks per game, rebounds (92), rebounds per game, and offensive rebounds per game (4.2) and is second in double-doubles (3).
Lindo was recognized with a weekly honor for the third time in his career. He was named top weekly player in the ninth report of last year and top rookie in the 11th report two seasons ago. In addition to first-team All-LEC recognition last year, Lindo repeated as an All-Defensive Team selection.
A winner of six of its last seven, Eastern faces Division III opponents Berry College, GA (Dec. 20) and La Grange College, GA (Dec. 21) in Daytona Beach. A member of the Southern Athletic Association, Berry is currently 2-4. LaGrange has won seven of eight this year after winning the USA South tournament last year, qualifying for its second straight NCAA tournament and finishing 17-12 overall.
