Enfield: Here's What Will Be on Your Ballot on Election Day

Information you need for Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Enfield voters will head to the polls this Tuesday, Nov. 4, for the 2014 midterm election. There is no election for the U.S. Senate this year in Connecticut.

Polling Information: Polls are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Council District 1: JFK Middle School
  • Council District 2: Enfield Street School (There will be NO voting at Enfield High School)
  • Council District 3: Fermi High School
  • Council District 4: Henry Barnard Elementary

Governor and lieutenant governor:

• The candidates are Republicans Thomas Foley and Heather Somers (also on the Independent Party ballot line), Democrats Dannel Malloy and Nancy Wyman (also on the Working Families Party ballot line), while Joe Visconti and Chester Frank Harris are the petitioning candidates. • Republican Sharon McLaughlin, Democrat Kevin Lembo and Green Party candidate Rolf Maurer are running.

Attorney General

• Republican Kie Westby and and Green Party candidate Stephen Fournier are challenging incumbent Democrat George Jepsen.

Ballot Questions

Voters will also be asked, “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to remove restrictions concerning absentee ballots and to permit a person to vote without appearing at a polling place on the day of an election?”. Question 2:

“Shall The Town Of Enfield appropriate $60,000,000 for reconstruction and repair of various town roads and roadside elements, and authorize the issuance of bonds, notes or temporary notes in an amount not to exceed $57,500,000, with the balance funded by grants and other available funds?

Question 3:

“Shall the Enfield Town Charter be revised as proposed by the charter revision commission and as approved by the Enfield Town Council by Resolution #2826 at its regular meeting of August 4, 2014?”
