Enfield High School Cops Top Prize in Project Graduation Contest
The school will receive $1,500 from a local credit union for receiving the most votes in an online contest.
ENFIELD, CT - Enfield High School's Safe Graduation celebration will be greatly aided by a local credit union, thanks to the school capturing the top prize in a recent contest.
The American Eagle Financial Credit Union recently conducted an online competition involving 17 high schools from within its coverage area. Over a two-week period, people voted via Facebook for their favorite high school, with cash prizes being awarded.
Enfield High School received 4,054 votes to easily outdistance runnerup Manchester by exactly 700 votes. Newington finished a distant third.

Enfield will receive $1,500 for its Safe Graduation festivities from American Eagle. Manchester will get $1,000, while Newington is slated to receive $500. The other 14 schools will each be presented $200.
There were over 15,000 votes made during the two week voting period for seventeen local high school project graduations.

"The members of the SafeGrad committee are thrilled with the outpouring of support the Town of Enfield delivered over the past two weeks to win American Eagle's promotion," Enfield Safe Grad committee member Barbara Crowley wrote on Facebook. "As the committee winds down with yearlong fundraising efforts, this was an unexpected and generous donation. Thank you to all who voted and encouraged others to vote."
All awards are subject to final approval by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, American Eagle stated on its Facebook page.
